The Reds and Cubs engaged in another thriller yesterday, but that one didn’t go the Reds’ way. They look to take the rubber match today.
The Reds have Tanner Roark on the mound, who is coming off of two straight losses. One of those was to these same Cubs in Cincinnati, giving up 3 runs in 5 innings of work. As close to a regular lineup as there has been lately, with the exception of Tucker Barnhart getting a day off.
The Cubs counter with Jose Quintana, who threw 6 shutout innings against the Phillies in his last start. He faced the Reds in the start before that, though, where he gave up 3 runs in 5 innings of work. Sounds familiar.
First pitch is set again for 2:20 PM ET.
