Well, the first game of the Cincinnati Reds first series in Wrigley this season sure was fun, no?
After falling behind 4-0 early on a trio of absolutely deee-stroyed dingers, the Reds managed to climb back into their Friday contest with the Chicago Cubs, give that comeback away, and then snatch a victory right back in quite the see-saw opener. On Saturday, the Reds will look to lock down a series victory against their bitter division rivals, and I can only assume there will be similar drama.
Cincinnati will turn to Tyler Mahle, who is somewhat quietly having a pretty damn solid 24 year old season, what with his 3.51 ERA to date and team-best 4.91 K/BB. The Cubs, meanwhile, will counter with veteran Yu Darvish, who’s still looking to truly establish himself with Chicago in year two of his massive contract.
First pitch is set again for 2:20 PM ET.
