Louisville blew a late 2-run lead to fall to Buffalo on Friday. Jose Lopez started and went 5 innings, giving up 4 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Jimmy “Drinks to” Herget struck out 3 in 1.2 scoreless innings of relief. Scott “Schedular” Schebler went 1 for 2 with a double, a walk, and a RBI. Blake Trahan went 1 for 3 with 2 RBI.
Chattanooga Lookouts 1, Biloxi Shuckers 7
Oof. Not a good outing by the Lookouts. Tejay Antone got the start and went 5.2 innings, allowing 5 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Brantley “Ring My” Bell went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks and Calten “Somehow still in the organization” Daal went 1 for 3 with the lone RBI.
Daytona Tortugas 8, Tampa Tarpons 6
Finally, some wins. Daytona won 8-6 Friday as a part of their weekend sweep of Tampa. “Return of the” Mac Sceroler started and was solid, going 5 innings and allowing 2 runs on 6 hits with no walks and 5 strikeouts. Ryan Nutof struck out 2 in 1.1 innings of relief. The offense really showed up for Daytona, as every starter had at least one hit. Hendrik “Oh, My Darling” Clementina went 2 for 4 and drove in 2 runs Bruce “BRRUUUUUUUCE” Yari went 1 for 3 with a dinger and 3 RBI. Andy Sugilio went 2 for 4 with a solo blast and 2 runs scored.
Dayton Dragons 3, South Bend Cubs 6
Dayton let a late lead slip away in a 6-3 loss to South Bend on Friday. Lyon Richardson started and went 4 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. Pabel Manzanero went 3 for 4 and drove in 2 and Mauriel Bautista went 1 for 4 with a run scored and 1 RBI.
Saturday, May 18
Louisville Bats 3, Buffalo Bison 4
Rob Wooten got the start for Louisville on Saturday and went 4 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits with no walks and 3 strikeouts. Nick “Hit Ball” Longhi went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and 3 RBI. Aristides “Heiress Titties” Aquino returned from the IL and went 2 for 4 with a double.
Chattanooga Lookouts 1, Biloxi Shuckers 6
Saturday did not go any better for the Lookouts. Jordan “Michael Magic” Johnson got the start and allowed 3 runs on 5 hits with 3 walks and 7 strikeouts over 4.2 innings of work. Alex “Danger” Powers struck out 1 in a scoreless inning of relief. The offense only had 2 hits. Mitch “Yay” Nay went 1 for 3 with a double and scored the only run and Ibandel Isabel went 1 for 4.
Daytona Tortugas 7, Tampa Tarpons 6
Daytona scored 4 runs in the 9th to force extra innings and ended up winning in the 11th. “Livin’ in a van down by the” Reiver Sanmartin got the start and allowed 2 runs on 6 hits with a walk and a strikeout over 4 innings. Yonathan “Soft J” Mendoza went 3 for 6 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Drew Mount went 2 for 4 with a triple, a walk, and 2 RBI and Jose Lopez went 2 for 5 and drove in a run.
Dayton Dragons 4, South Bend Cubs 1
Jared “Song of” Solomon allowed an unearned run in 4.1 innings of work with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts in his start on Saturday. Carlos Machorro struck out 5 in 1.2 innings of relief and Connor Bennett struck out 2 of the 3 batters he faced. Shard “Shart” Munroe went 1 for 4 with a 3-run homer and Brian Rey went 2 for 4 with a solo shot.
Sunday, May 19
Louisville Bats 7, Buffalo Bison 3
Louisville was able to pull out a win on Sunday, defeating Buffalo 7-3. Lucas “I am your Father” Sims started and continued to pitch well, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits with no walks and 5 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. Ian “Dave” Krol struck out all 4 batters he faced, which was cool. Aristides “Horse Shit” Aquino went 4 for 4 with a solo blast and 2 runs scored. Brian “Beef” O’Grady went 3 for 5 with 3 solo tanks and Christian Colon “Blow went 3 for 5 with only 1 solo homer.
Louisville is off tonight.
Chattanooga Lookouts 4, Biloxi Shuckers 5
Chattanooga wasn’t able to get on the right track, falling 5-4 on Sunday. This was the Lookouts 6th straight loss. Johendi Jiminian got the start and went 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Brantley Bell continues to hit the ball well, as he went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. Alfredo “Little Pasta” Rodriguez went 2 for 5 on the day.
Tony Santillan starts tonight for the Lookouts at 7:35 PM EDT.
Daytona Tortugas 5, Tampa Tarpons 4
Daytona had another extra innings win on Sunday. Ryan Lillie started and went 7.2 innings, allowing 4 runs (2 earned) on 9 hits, 1 walk, and 3 strikeouts. Ryan Nutof struck out 5 in 2.1 scoreless innings of relief. Andy Sugilio went 3 for 5 on the day. Alejo Lopez went 2 for 2 and Jose Garcia went 1 for 4 with a solo home run.
Daytona has a double-header today, with the first game starting at 5:30 PM EDT.
Dayton Dragons 4, South Bend Cubs 8
It was not a great outing for Dayton on Sunday. Ricky Salinas started and lasted only 3.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. Michael Siani went 1 for 4 with a triple and a RBI and Jay Schuyler “Sisters” went 1 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI while Juan Martinez went 1 for 4 with a solo blast.
