Reds at Mets, Game 4: Preview and Lineups

Yay for day baseball! The Cincinnati Reds conclude their short 4-game road trip looking to pull out a series victory against the New York Mets. There were some late-inning heroics provided by Jose Iglesias last night, as he hit his 2nd homer of the season in the 9th inning to propel the Reds to a 1-0 victory over reigning Cy Young winner Jacob deGrom. The Reds will send Tyler Mahle to the mound this afternoon. Mahle looks to bounce back after having a rough outing against the St. Louis Cardinals last week. He gave up 5 runs in 5 innings in the 6-3 loss.

The Mets will counter with Noah Syndergaard. Syndergaard has mostly struggled this season, as he has a 6.35 ERA over 6 starts this season. He is, however, still one of the best pitchers in baseball facing off against one of the worst offenses in baseball at the moment, so look for him to have a bounce-back start in this one.

First pitch is scheduled for 12:10 PM EDT.
