Brandon Larson Honorary Star Of The Weekend

Taylor Trammell - The Reds future CF had himself a helluva 2019 debut. He walked thrice on Thursday, singled and scored on Friday, walked and dingered on Saturday, and singled and dingered on Sunday.

In four games, that’s four walks, two dingers, and four total RBI. Remember, he’s also fast. he can also play CF. Cleveland wanted him for Corey Kluber and the Reds balked.

Here’s a video of his homer on Sunday if you need something to get your Monday in gear.

Friday

Louisville Bats 3, Toledo Mud Hens 4

Lucas “Films” Sims was not good. He gave up 3 earned runs over 3 innings on 7 hits, 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Jesus “Saves” Reyes picked up his pitcher though, and so did the rest of the bullpen. Reyes pitched 2 scoreless with 2 strikeouts, “Slippery” Sal Romano also came out of the pen and struck out 3 in 2 scoreless. I forgot Sal Romano existed honestly. Brian “Beef” O’Grady went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI and 2 walks. That’s a lot of twos. Blake “The Snake” Trahan went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk.

Chattanooga Lookouts 1, Montgomery Biscuits 3

Andy Cox picked up the save with 2 strikeouts in a scoreless 9th. Jay “And Silent Bob” Schuyler was 2 for 4 with a homer, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored. Chattanooga Lookouts 6, Montgomery Biscuits 5

Scott “Stinky” Moss did not have himself a good one. While he only allowed 1 earned run in 4 innings (2 total) he did walk 6 against 4 strikeouts with 2 hits allowed. Ryan “Jimi” Hendrix and Alex “Light Tower” Powers both pitched scoreless innings out of the pen. Taylor Trammell continued to cement himself into our hearts and souls by walking and hitting a 3-run dong blast. Jose “Ask” Siri went 3 for 4 with a RBI, walk, run scored, and a steal.

Daytona Tortugas 5, Florida Mans 4

Packy “Wacky” Naughton had his wacky stuff going on Saturday. He allowed 3 earned runs over 6 innings on 6 hits, no walks, while striking out 8. Wendolyn Bautista struck out 1 in 1 scoreless to pick up the save. Alejo “Aloha” Lopez went 3 for 5 with a RBI, Leandro “Carlos” Santana knocked in three with a double, and Lorenzo Cedrola went 2 for 5 with a triple and a run scored.

That’s a goose egg for the good guys in green. Jhon “J-hon” De Jesus pitched 5 scoreless innings while giving up 3 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Eduardo Salazar struck out 2 in 2 shutout innings from the pen, and Eddy “Dumbass” Demurias did the same. Mariel Bautista has started the year on fire. He went 2 for 5 with a solo homer. Jay Schuyler went 2 for 5, and Juan Martinez went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI.

Sunday

Louisville Bats 8, Toledo Mud Hens 4

Vladimir “Goots” Gutierrez made a quality AAA debut. He gave up 2 earned runs over 5.1 innings on 4 hits, 1 walk, while striking out 3. “Sweaty” Sal Romano continued to show some serious brilliance out of the bullpen by throwing 2 shutout innings with three strikeouts, and Anthony “Deep” Bass pitched a clean 9th inning. Chris “Annie Are You” Okey went 2 for 4 with a RBI, double, and a run scored.

Jose Lopez takes the mound at 6:05 PM ET.

Chattanooga Lookouts 11, Montgomery Biscuits 7

Jordan “Big” Johnson didn’t have his good stuff. He allowed 4 earned runs over 4 innings on 3 hits, 4 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Ty “Popping” Boyles struck out 3 in 2 scoreless, and Joel “Slyde” Kuhnel did the same. Taylor “My Hero” Trammell continued to rake. He knocked his 2nd dinger of the weekend on a 2 for 5 afternoon. Jose Siri also hit a homer, though it was of the inside the park variety, when he scorched a pitch to center field. The center fielder banged off the wall (was shaken up) and Siri came racing around the bases with head first slide. It all counts, folks. He was also 2 for 5 with 3 RBI total. Alfredo “Little Pasta” Rodriguez went 3 for 4 and scored 2 runs.

Chattanooga takes the field at 7:15 PM EST.

Daytona Tortugas 5, Florida Mans 3

Andrew “Old Hickory” Jordan was wild but kept the runs off the board. He pitched 5 shutout innings on 3 hits, 4 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Cory “Convert” Thompson struck out in 2 scoreless, and John “Demon” Ghyzel struck out 2 in 1.1 scoreless to get the save. Bruce “Almighty” Yari went 2 for 3 with a walk and a RBI, and Andy “Slug Lord” Sugilio went 1 for 3 with a RBI and a walk. Mark Kolozsvary went 2 for 4 with a double and 4 RBI.

Michael Byrne is on the mound at 6:30 PM ET.

Dayton Dragons 2, Bowling Green Hot Rods 13.

James “Jimmy” Marinan gave up 3 earned runs over 4 innings on 8 hits, 1 walk, and 4 strikeouts. That’s some seriously bad luck. The bullpen was fresh vomit on the pavement on a hot summer day. Mike Siani went 1 for 4 with a walk, and Mariel Bautista knocked another double for two runs.

Lyon Richardson takes the mount at 7:05 PM EST.
