Farmers Only: Jose Garcia Plays Baseball Again

Louisville Bats 4, Durham Bulls 11

Odrisamer “Despair” Despaigne wasn’t good and it doomed the Bats. He gave up 6 earned runs over 3.1 innings on seven hits, two walks, and six strikeouts. Cody “Rec Spec” Reed struck out two in 1.2 scoreless, Matt “Archer” Bowman struck out one in a scoreless inning, Jackson “Mississippi” Stephens K’d one in his one inning of good ball, and Anthony “Deep” Bass struck out one in his scoreless inning. Josh “Put A Quarter In The” VanMeter went 2 for 5 with a two run dinger. Rob “Bob” Refsnyder went 3 for 4 with a double and a RBI, and Brian “The Beef” O’Grady went 2 for 3 with a double, RBI, and a walk.

The Bats will play at 7:15 PM ET.

Chattanooga Lookouts 7, Biloxi Shuckers 3

Scott “Big Boss” Moss was better but wasn’t great. He allowed three earned runs over five innings on six hits, four walks, while striking out six. Wyatt “Earp” Strahan struck out three in two innings, and Joel “Sofa King” Kuhnel struck out one in two innings to pick up the save. Ibandel “Princess” Isabel and Gavin “Goes Deep In” LaValley both hit dingers. LaValley’s was a two-run shot. TJ “Of The Hill” Friedl went 1 for 3 with a walk, a RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base.

Daytona Tortugas 3, Bradenton Marauders 2

Reiver Sanmartin was good once again. He allowed two earned runs over five innings on four hits, zero walks, while striking out four. Ryan “Twins” Olson (2 K) and Ryan “Busta” Nutof (3 K) nailed down the final four innings by pitching two apiece. The latter was also rewarded the save. Jose “Cherry” Garcia got his first action of the year and went 2 for 3 with a walk. Jonathan “Bollywood” India knocked in all three of the Tortugas runs with a mighty three run dong shot in the 1st inning.

Daytona plays at 7:05 PM ET.

Dayton Dragons 8, Great Lake Loons 3 (F/7)

This game was shortened as God punishes Ohio for its sins. Jared “Temple Of” Solomon didn’t have the good stuff. He gave up three runs (one earned) on two hits, four walks, while striking out two. Alexis Diaz struck out three in 2.1 scoreless, and “Tom ‘N” Jerry D’Andrea struck out two in two innings pick up the save. Shard “My Pants” Munroe went 2 for 3 with a triple, dinger, 2 RBI, and a walk. Willems also knocked in three with a dinger. Jay Shuyler went 3 for 3 with a triple and Reniel Ozuna had three hits.
