The Brandon Larson Honorary Star of the Night
Aristides Aquino - 2 for 2, 1 2B, 2-run HR, 2 R, 2 BB
Louisville Bats 5, Columbus Clippers 9
Louisville gave up 5 runs in the last 2 innings to lose 9-5 on Wednesday. Vladimir “Gootz” Gutierrez started and went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. “General” Jackson Stephens struck out 4 in 2 scoreless innings. Christian Colon “Oscopy” went 3 for 4 from the plate and hit a 2-run homer. Aristides “Heiress Titties” Aquino went 2 for 2 with a double, a 2-run dinger, and 2 walks and Phil “Phlervin” Ervin went 2 for 5. Cody Reed and Jimmy Herget were not good, combining to give up the 5 runs late in the game.
Up Next: TBD starts tonight against Columbus at 7:00PM EDT.
Chattanooga Lookouts 2, Mississippi Braves 3
Tejay Antone started for the Lookouts and was solid, giving up 2 runs on 2 hits with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts over 6 innings of work. Out of the bullpen, Ryan “Purple Haze” Hendrix was absolute nails. He didn’t allow a base runner in 2.1 innings and struck out 5 batters. Decent. Jose “Que Sera?” Siri went 2 for 4 and scored a run and Taylor “22” Trammell went 1 for 2 with a solo dinger that was crushed. You’ll need to see it for yourself, because it was a blast. Lucky for you, I posted it right here.

Up Next: The Lookouts play tonight at 7:15 PM EDT.
Daytona Tortugas 0, Jupiter Hammerheads 1
Daytona, trying to fit in with their Major League brethren, failed to score a run on Wednesday. That’s unfortunate, because it would have only taken 2 to win. Austin “1984” Orewiler was solid in his start, giving up no runs on 4 hits with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. Ryan Olson “Twins” struck out 3 batters in 2 innings of relief, but unfortunately gave up the only run of the game. The Tortugas only had 4 hits and none went for extra bases, so I won’t write about that.
Up Next: Michael Byrne takes the mound this afternoon at 12:00 PM EDT.
Dayton Dragons 4, Fort Wayne TinCaps 3
Thankfully, Dayton was able to pull out a win on Wednesdsay. James Marinan got the start and gave up only 1 run on 2 hits while walking 4 and striking out 4 in 4.2 innings. Pabel “Applesauce” Manzanero went 2 for 4 with a double and a solo blast, Bren Spillane went 2 for 4 with a double and scored a run, and Juan Martinez also went 2 for 4, collecting 2 doubles. Jonathan Willems went 2 for 2 with a solo dinger.
Up Next: Lyon Richardson gets the start tonight at 6:05 PM EDT.
