La noche pasada fue muy divertido, no?
The first game of the series between the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals in Monterrey, Mexico went the way of the Reds, with a dinger-infused 5-2 victory stretching Cincinnati’s win streak to four. The two will have a second chance to tussle south of the border on Sunday, too, with the Reds seeking another victory against an NL Central opponent to help rectify their poor start against their closest peers earlier in the season.
The Reds will send Anthony DeSclafani to the mound, whose two starts have seen him be both hittable and unhittable. He’s managed to fan 13 in his 9.1 IP so far, but has also been tagged for a pair of dingers and an unsightly 1.50 WHIP. Hopefully, he’ll have his best stuff working this afternoon.
St. Louis will counter with Miles Mikolas, who is obviously off a breakout 2018 season. His 2019 season, though, hasn’t gotten off to quite as good of a beginning, as he has surrended 4 dingers and 11 ER in his 16.1 IP. Somewhat surprisingly, he’s also only managed 8 K in that span, so perhaps the Reds are catching him at a good time.
First pitch is set for 4:10 PM ET.
Go Reds. Go the freakin’ go.
