The Brandon Larson Honorary Star of the Night

The first tastes of pro ball haven’t been as kind to Jonathan India as he had hoped in his young career. He had his best offensive performance of the season on Tuesday night, though, going 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 RBI. That dinger was the first for the Daytona Tortugas this season, and hopefully one of many to come for Mr India. Have a trophy, Jonathan. An honorable mention is due to Josh VanMeter, who dingered twice. He also got the BLHSotN yesterday, so I figured I’d spread the love today.

Louisville Bats 6, Columbus Clippers 2

A late offensive outburst helped propel Louisville past Columbus on Tuesday night. Odrisamer Despaigne got the start and lasted 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 2 hits with 4 walks and 8 strikeouts. His 2 runs allowed were both solo homers. Cody “ZNuts” Reed threw 2 scoreless innings and struck out 4. Josh “Parking” VanMeter had another big night going 2 for 4 with 2 dingers and 4 RBI. “Be My” Valentin went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 1 RBI.

Up Next: Lucas Sims gets the start today against Columbus at 11:35 am EDT.

Chattanooga was off last night. Rob Wooten gets the start tonight at 7:05 PM EDT.

Daytona Tortugas 5, Palm Beach Cardinals 10

“Over the” Reiver “and through the” Sanmartin was cruising, having allowed only 1 run in 5 innings. Unfortunately, the 6th inning came and everything fell apart, leaving Daytona on the losing end of a 10-5 game. The aforementioned Sanmartin allowed 5 earned runs on 7 hits with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts over 5.1 innings of work. Jonathan “Bollywood” India had a breakout day at the plate, going 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 RBI. Carlos Rivero went 2 for 4 and Yonathan “Soft J” Mendoza reached base 3 times, going 1 for 3 with 2 walks.

Up Next: Ryan Lillie gets the start tonight at 6:30 pm EDT.

Dayton Dragons 4, Fort Wayne TinCaps 5

Dayton gave up 5 runs in the final 2 innings to lose 5-4 to Fort Wayne on Tuesday night. Jared “and the 700 wives of” Solomon started for Dayton and they were solid, going 4 innings and allowing no runs on 4 hits with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. Alexis Diaz struck out 4 batters in 2 shutout innings of relief. Bren Spillane continued his solid start at the plate, going 2 for 4 with a homer and 3 RBI. Pabel Manzanero also went 2 for 4, adding a double and a run scored.

Up Next: Jacob Heatherly will get the start today against Fort Wayne at 11:05 AM EDT.
