Good day Son-shine!
After ‘elbow stiffness’ derailed his would-be Cincinnati Reds debut in the team’s Cactus League opener some two weeks ago, Sonny Gray will make his long-awaited first start for the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday night. He’s fired the requisite bullpen sessions to show that he’s ready to roll, and tonight will be the first chance for all of us to see the biggest acquisition of a busy winter in his new jersey.
I said see for a reason, y’see. This one will be televised on FS-Ohio, as well as MLB.tv, so you can tune in for some late-night Reds and watch along.
Hat-tip to The Athletic’s C. Trent Rosecrans for tweeting out the travel roster and notes for tonight’s contest against the San Diego Padres.

First pitch is set for 8:40 PM ET. Let’s just hope there’s no blister in the Son.
