Sonny Gray had a belated start to his first spring camp with the Cincinnati Reds, a stiff elbow sending him to the shelf for longer than any of us hoped. His first appearance, though, helped ease some of the fears, as he fanned 3 in a pair of impressive innings last week.
Gray returns to the mound for the Reds on Thursday against the Los Angeles Dodgers, as the two clubs will tussle at Camelback Ranch. Here’s the full travel roster - thanks, C. Trent.

Of note, I suppose, is the preponderance of former Dodgers on the roster for the Reds today, as each of Yasiel Puig, Scott Schebler, Jose Peraza, and Kyle Farmer are available to take on their former franchise. It’s a split-squad game for LA, and wouldn’t you know it, they’re giving a start at SS to former Reds prospect Jeter Downs, too.
Wooooooo, spring training drama!
If you’ve got access to MLB.tv, this one will be watchable via the Dodgers feed. First pitch is set for 4:05 PM ET.
Go Reds! They’re almost not last in the Cactus League standings!
