Spring Training Game Three: Reds at Mariners

Baseball, or something slightly similar.

MLB: Spring Training-Cincinnati Reds at Los Angeles Angels
This is not where they’re playing today.
Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Senzel is leading off for the Cincinnati Reds today as the team’s CF. If that’s not reason enough to watch some fake baseball on a cold Monday afternoon in February, I don’t know what to tell you.

That’s a lie. There’s plenty more to tell you.

For one, Alex Wood will take the mound in a Reds uniform to start, and that’ll be greatly enjoyable to see. His counterpart will be Yusei Kikuchi, who’ll be making his debut for the Seattle Mariners after being one of the more coveted international signees in recent years. To top that off, you’ll get to see Joey Votto in the lineup next to Yasiel Puig, and even get to catch up with former Reds prospect Shed Long as he leads off for Seattle.

On top of that, each of Michael Lorenzen, Tyler Mahle, and Tony Santillan are listed as available pitchers today, each of whom I’m excited to see. Hell, it’s baseball again, so frankly I’m excited to see just about anyone again.

If you’ve got MLB.tv, this one will be televised thanks to Seattle’s affiliate setting up a few cameras in Peoria today. It won’t be on FS-Ohio, however. First pitch is set for 3:10 PM ET.
