The stove has been warming up over the last 24 hours, with rumblings that the Reds are lining up a trade for Sonny Gray.
SportsRag’s Jon Heyman with the latest:
Yankees and #Reds are getting closer on a Sonny Gray trade. Teams are talking about two prospects and a draft pick going for Sonny. One of 2B prospect Shed Long and C prospect Tyler Stephenson may go. #SFGiants, Braves, Brewers are on periphery. A deal should happen this weekend.

As of right now, Long and Stephenson feature as the Reds’ 7th and 10th ranked prospects respectively according to MLB.com. It’d be a lot to give up for Gray, who after a great 2017, had a 4.90 ERA for the Yankees last year.
More as this develops.
