...y’know, it doesn’t really matter.

I suppose a mid-September trip to South Florida is what some folks would like to call fun these days, and the Reds will be doing so against the Miami Marlins for the duration of the weekend. Despite Derek Jeter’s best/worst intentions, there might only be about nine kids and Marlins Man in attendance, but at least Scooter Gennett, Joey Votto, and Eugenio Suarez will be trying like crazy to bring home the NL crowns for batting average, on-base percentage, dingers, and ribbies - assuming crowns for those actually exist.

Maybe they just get a statue for those accomplishments. Perhaps one that looks like this.

I digress.

Cody Reed will start for Cincinnati in the series opener Thursday at 7:10 PM ET.
