The Reds continue their final tour through the National League Central.
After narrowly losing two of three in Chicago, the Reds travel to Milwaukee for three more against the Brewers, who are still 2.5 games back of the Cubs. The Brewers will get this three game homestand against the last place Reds, while the Cubs start a three game series of their own with the Diamondbacks out in Arizona, which has its own division championship meaning.
Wade Miley takes the mound for Milwaukee, and he’s seen a lot of success since coming over to the Brew Crew earlier this season. He owns a 2.23 ERA for Milwaukee in 68.2 IP (vs. a 5.61 ERA earlier this season with Baltimore). He’s allowed two of fewer earned runs in 12 of his 13 starts at a Brewer.
On the Reds side of the diamond, Anthony DeSclafani will start and attempt to brush off his end-of-season struggles. Disco owns a 6.84 ERA over his last five starts, allowing a .910 OPS and 5 HR in those 25 innings pitched.
He’ll, uh, need to do better than that tonight. He’s given up 4 ER in each of his starts against Milwaukee this season.
