The Cincinnati Reds are 9-26 in 1-run games in 2018, which is the worst in all of Major League Baseball. The Cincinnati Reds have lost back to back games to the Chicago Cubs to open this particular series, both of which were 1-run losses.
Sometimes, baseball’s just painful like that.
The Reds will turn to Luis Castillo for Sunday’s series finale, and they’ll do so hoping he can continue his excellent September run of form. In his trio of starts this month, Castillo has fanned 27 in just 18.0 IP, having allowed just 3 ER while limiting opposition hitters to just a .167/.203/.364 line in that time. That, as the kids say, would do just fine.
Jose Quintana will toe the rubber for the Baby Bears.
First pitch is set for 2:20 PM ET.
