Joey Votto has homered in two of his last three games, hit a double off the top of the wall in the other, and just spoke to how his power should spike to end the season thanks to a tweak in his swing. He’s not playing tonight.
Brandon Dixon is 26, has an OPS+ of 51, and is starting for the fourth consecutive game, presumably thanks to today and yesterday being against the Los Angeles Dodgers - his former club. Whatever.
Dilson Herrera is 24, got zero starts against his former club (the New York Mets) when they and the Cincinnati Reds had a series in August, and is again on the bench for this one. He has started just twice in the last 17 days, and is out of options at the end of 2018.
Your 2018 Cincinnati Rigglemans, folks.
First pitch Tuesday is set for 6:40 PM ET. Luis Castillo and Hyun-Jin Ryu will be the starting pitchers.
