So, the Cincinnati Reds have a bit of an infatuation with Mr. Matt Harvey, one that was just big enough to outweigh the waiver claim and, presumably, trade offer from the Milwaukee Brewers last week that would’ve seen the former ace change teams.
Now, Harvey gets a chance to show the Brewers what they missed out on, as he’ll take the mound for the Reds on Wednesday evening with a chance to kick the Brewers further from a playoff spot. That’s intriguing, no?
What’s also intriguing are a pair of things roster-related for the Reds. For one, Joey Votto - who apparently looked pretty healthy yesterday - has not yet been activated from the DL. Secondly, Amir Garrett has been placed on the 10-day DL with a bone bruise in his foot, and taking his place on the active roster is righty Jackson Stephens, who’s apparently healthy again after his knee issue.
The Beers will counter with Freddy Peralta. First pitch is set for 7:10 PM ET.
