Farmers Only: Ibandel Isabel Doinks Dongs and Wrecks Records

It’s not every day someone breaks a single season home run record.

Brandon Larson Honorary Star Of The Night

Ibandel Isabel - Hit his 34th and 35th dingers of the year last night for 3 RBI total. This breaks a Florida State League record of which I have no clue of the age. But, that’s still super awesome. Isabel is obviously having a career year, and it’s been super fun to follow.

Louisville Bats 6, Columbus Clippers 7

Justin “Addicted To” Nicolino gave up 3 earned runs over 6 innings on 4 hits, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Jimmy “Drink To” Herget pitches a scoreless inning of relief. Brian “Beef” O’Grady continues to make AAA his bitch. He went 1 for 3 with a 2-run dinger and a walk. He has a .955 OPS. Josh “Manwitch” Maneater doubled, knocked in a run, and Gabby Guerrero tripled as they both went 2 for 5.

Jose Lopez takes the mound at 6:35 PM ET.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 5, Mobile BayBears 4

Wyatt “Earp” Strahan has had a rough year, but he had a decent outing on Tuesday. 6 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4. Joel “Shiny Ass” Bender struck out 4 in 3 scoreless innings, and Robinson “Seven” Leyer “Salad” struck out 2 while not giving up an earned run in an inning. TJ “Of The Hill” Friedl went 2 for 4 with a walk and 2 runs scored. Aristides Aquino knocked in 2 runs with a double, and Narciso “Nabisco” Crook went 2 for 5 with 2 RBI.

TBD will be on the mound at 6:00 PM CT.

Daytona Tortugas 5, Charlotte Stone Crabs 3

Ibandel “STRONG” Isabel made Florida League history by breaking their single season home run record. He hit his 34th and 35th home runs of the season and knocked in 3 total runs. Taylor Trammell went 2 for 4 with a walk, and Bruce “Almighty” Yari went 1 for 4 with 2 RBI and a walk. Tommy “Boy” Bergjans took the start and gave up 2 earned runs over 5 innings on 6 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Ryan “Guitar Solo” Hendrix struck out 1 in a scoreless inning to pick up his 12th save. He has a 1.62 ERA on the year.

Dayton had the night off. Austin Orewiler will start.

Billings Mustangs 6, Missoula Osprey 4

Billings spotted the Osprey a 3 run lead and still came back for the victory. Luis “Cardinales” Alecis got bonked around for 4 ER in his 3 IP, thanks largely to a 3/1 BB/K and 6 hits allowed. He was picked up big time by the Mustang offense, though, particularly Juan Martinez, who slobberknocked a pair of dingers as part of his 3 for 4, 4 ribbie night.

Ricky “Bobby” Salinas will start for Billings on Wednesday in their 9:05 PM ET outing.

Greeneville Reds 1, Princeton Rays 12

Perez “I” Knowles was the only pitcher not to have a bad time. He struck out 2 in 2 scoreless innings to mercilessly end this one. Brandt “Bunchy” Stallings knocked in the only run of the game, and no one else did anything of any note.

Greeneville will play at 7:00 PM ET.
