Josh “Put Money In The” VanMeter knocked a 2-run dinger and walked, and Gabby Guerrero knocked in 2 while going 2 for 5.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 4, Mobile BayBears 9

Seth Varner got crushed in 4 innings (6 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 4 K). Narcisco “I Am Not A” Crook went 3 for 5 with a RBI, and Shed Long doubled and walked twice.

Tejay Antone pitched adequately. He gave up 3 earned runs over 6.2 innings on 6 hits, 2 walks, and 8 strikeouts. Ty “Lancing” Boyles struck out 2 in 1.1 scoreless, and Aaron “Fuzzy” Fossas pitched a perfect inning. Tyler Stephenson hit a solo dinger, Ibandel Isabel knocked in 2 while going 2 for 4 with a double, and Stuart “Little” Fairchild went 2 for 4 with a walk, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored.

Satchel “Paige” McElroy went 3 for 4 with a RBI, and Brian “Beef” O’Grady went 2 for 3 with a double and a RBI.

Vlad “Goots” Gutierrez gave up 6 earned runs over 1.1 innings (4 H, 3 BB, 3 K). But, the bullpen picked up the slack. Jose “Angry Turtle” Rafael De Paula struck out 1 in 3.2 scoreless, Rookie “Of The Year” Davis struck out 1 in a scoreless inning, Robinson “Brick” Leyer struck out 1 in 2 scoreless, and Alex “Light Tower” Powers struck out 2 in a scoreless inning. Narciso “Trump” Crook went 2 for 3 with a RBI, 2 walks, and a run scored, Chris “Annie Are You” Okey went 3 for 4 with a walk and 2 RBI, and Jose Siri knocked a tripled, drove in 2, and scored twice.

Lucas Sims again got burned by the homer, but he still pitched well. He gave up 3 earned runs over 5 innings on 6 hits, 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts. Jimmy “Eat World” Herget pitched a scoreless inning. Hernan “The Barbarian” Iribarren went 4 for 4 with a RBI.

Tony “Sizzlin” Santillan put himself together and had a dang good one on Sunday. He gave up only an earned run over 7 innings on 7 hits, 2 walks, while striking out 8. Carlos “Nipples” Navas struck out 2 in 2.1 innings. Mitch Nay singled and walked.

Scott Moss “Man” didn’t give up an earned run (2 runs did score) over 7 innings on 5 hits, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Aaron Fossas pitched a scoreless inning. Ibandel “Princess” Isabel knocked a 3-run dinger and walked, and Morgan “Lazy” Lofstrom went 4 for 4 with a RBI. Taylor Trammell hit a doubled and walked twice.

Jared “King” Solomon gave up 2 earned runs (3 total) over 5 innings on 2 hits, 4 walks, and 1 strikeout. The bullpen didn’t have a good time either. Jeter Downs swatted a 2-run dinger with a walk, Andy Sugilio went 4 for 5 with double and a RBI, and Alejo “Aloha” Lopez went 3 for 4 with a RBI, walk, and 2 runs scored. Dayton only scored 5 runs even though they had 14 hits and 4 walks.

James Marinan did well in his short start. He pitched 3 shutout innings on 3 hits, no walks, while striking out 4. Connor Ryan struck out 2, Connor Curlis struck out 1, and Ryan Dunne struck out 2 all while not giving up any earned runs in their inning pitched. Drew Mount went 4 for 5 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored, and Leonardo “Renaissance Man” Seminati hit a grand slam and knocked in 5 runs.
