Robert Stephenson’s return to the Cincinnati Reds has largely been a disaster thusfar. He’s logged just 5.2 IP in 2 starts since being recalled from AAA Louisville so far in 2018, in which time he has walked 9 against 6 strikeouts and posted an ugly 7.94 ERA. It’s a far cry from how he wrapped the 2017 season, when he allowed just a 2.50 ERA over his final 50.1 IP, and it’s certainly much worse than how he pitched in his AAA stint earlier this year.
On Wednesday, Bob gets another chance, this time against the Milwaukee Brewers with a chance for the Reds to pick up a rather impressive road series victory against a contender while Joey Votto is sidelined. That, folks, would be pretty damn cool.
The Brewers, meanwhile, will send Freddy Peralta to the hill, who the Reds tagged for 3 ER in 5 IP back on July 1st in a game Cincinnati ultimately won.
First pitch is set for 2:10 PM ET.
