Lucas “Films” Sims showed a lot of stuff you like but got dinged by the long ball. He gave up 2 of them and 3 earned runs over 7 innings. He ended up giving up 5 runs total on 5 hits, 1 walk, while striking out 7. Brandon Finnegan did the unthinkable and struck out the side in an inning of relief, and Jackson “Mississippi” Stephens pitched a perfect 9th inning. Hernan “The Barbarian” Iribarren went 3 for 4, DJ Peterson went 2 for 4, and Josh “Maneater” VanMeter went 2 for 4 with a double, RBI, and a run scored.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 1, Biloxi Shuckers 2

Tony “The Tiger” Santillan also gave up two dingers but pitched a pretty good game otherwise. He gave up only those 2 earned runs over 7 innings on 4 hits, 1 walk, and 4 strikeouts. Alex “Light Tower” Powers struck out 2 in a scoreless inning. Gavin “Deep In” LaValley knocked in the lone run on a solo homer.

Daytona Tortugas 4, Lakeland Flying Tigers 2

Scotty “Doesn’t Know” Moss threw a fantastic game. 5 innings and only 1 earned run (2 total) on 7 hits, 2 walks, 10 strikeouts. Michael Byrnes “Deep” struck out 2 in 2 innings, Carlos Diaz struck out 2 in an inning, and Ryan “Jimi” Hendrix struck out 1 in a scoreless inning. Alfredo “Little Pasta” Rodriguez went 2 for 3 with a double, RBI, walk, and a run scored. Tyler Stephenson went 1 for 2 with a RBI and two walks.

Dayton Dragons 7, West Michigan Whitecaps 4

Jared “King” Solomon held his own. He gave up 2 earned runs (4 total) over 5.2 innings on 10 hits, no walks, and 3 strikeouts. Wendolyn Bautista struck out 3 in 2.1 innings, and Aneurys “Zuul” Zabala struck out 2 in a scoreless inning. Andy Sugilio went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and a run scored.

James “Sauce” Marinan also pitched himself a dang good one, and he’s been rather good as of late. Marinan gave up 2 earned runs over 6 innings on 6 hits, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts. Ryan “Stunt Bike” Dunne struck out 1 in a scoreless inning. Drew Mount went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI and 2 walks, and Satchel “Paige” McElroy went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored.

Josiah “Sonny” Gray also pitched a damn good game. He gave up 1 earned run over 5.1 innings on 1 hit, 3 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Ian “Coke” Koch pitched a scoreless inning. Edwin “Yin” Yon went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and a run scored, Rylan Thomas went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored, and Michael Hernandez went 2 for 4 with a RBI.
