The Brandon Larson Honorary Star of the Night
Tony Santillan - 5.2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 11 K
Tony Santillan continues to have the best season of his minor league career. After posting a 2.70 ERA in the first half for Daytona, he earned the call up to Double-A Pensacola and hasn’t missed a beat. He had a 2.28 ERA for the Wahoos going into Monday’s outing and improved on that number with another fantastic outing. He threw 5.2 shutout innings and allowed only 4 hits, walked 2 batters, and struck out 11. That’s some damn fine work.
Louisville Bats 4, Toledo Mud Hens 6
The Bats couldn’t overcome an early deficit and ended up falling 6-4 to Toledo on Monday. Justin Nicolino got the start and was not good. He allowed 4 runs on 10 hits over 5 innings while walking none and striking out 4. Gabriel “The Destroyer” Guerrero brought the lumber, going 3 for 5 with a double and 2 solo dingers. “Stone Cold” Steve Selsky went 2 for 4 and so did Josh “Feed The” VanMeter, who added a double.
Jose Lopez starts tonight at 7:05 PM ET.

Tony “Santigold” Santillan was fantastic again for Pensacola, leading them to a 6-3 victory. He threw 5.2 innings and allowed no runs on 4 hits while walking 2 and striking out 11. That’ll do. Jose “Que Sera?” Siri went 3 for 5 with a triple, a RBI, and 3 runs scored. Taylor “Who?” Featherston also went 3 for 5 with a triple and drove in 2 while Mitch “Yay” Nay went 2 for 4 with a double.
Daniel Wright gets the start tonight at 6:35 PM ET.
Daytona was off last night. They will face off against Palm Beach at 6:30 PM ET.
Dayton Dragons 3, Lansing Lugnuts 8
A 6-run top of the 6th would be too much for the Dayton Dragons to overcome on Monday. Patrick “Scruff” McGuff was solid until that fateful 6th, throwing 5 shutout innings to that point. In all, he gave up 3 runs on 2 hits with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts over 5.1 innings of work. Hendrik “Oh, My Darling” Clementina went 3 for 3 with a double. “I am” Raul Wallace went 2 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBI, Jose Garcia went 2 for 4 with a walk, and Jonathan India went 1 for 4 in his Midwest League debut.
Hunter Greene will take the mound tonight at 7:00 PM ET.
Greeneville was off last night. Lyon Richardson will hope to right the ship tonight at 6:30 PM ET.
Billings Mustangs 7, Great Falls Voyagers 2
Adrian “AAAAADDRRRIIAAAAAANN” Rodriguez got the start for Billings and pitched well. He threw 6 innings and scattered 7 hits, allowed 1 run, walked none and struck out 5.
