Brandon Larson Honorary Star Of The Night
DJ Peterson - 3 for 4, 2 HR, 2B, 4 RBI
Louisville Bats 6, Buffalo Bison 2
Justin “Vape” Nicolino was good. He allowed 2 earned runs over 6 innings on 7 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Tanner “Have You Ever Seen The” Rainey struck out 1 in 1 scoreless, and Wandy “Blondie” Peralta struck out 1 in 2 scoreless. DJ “Tanner” Peterson went 3 for 4 with 2 dingers, a double, and 4 RBI. Mason “Paint” Williams went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 runs scored.
Louisville plays at 7:00 PM ET.
Pensacola Blue Wahoos 5, Chattanooga Lookouts 4
It was a close one, but Wahoos wiggled their way out of a Lookout rally in the 9th. Tony “The Tiger” Santillan had one of his more boring starts of the year. He went 5.2 innings with a bunch of threes. He allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits, 3 walks, while striking out 3. Joel “Shiny Ass” Bender pitched 1.1 scoreless. Jose Siri left the game early and was replaced by Daniel Sweet. Neither did anything cool. Siri didn’t get hurt by the way. He was ejected and it happened in some hilarious fashion. Manager Jody Davis was ejected after Siri was ordered back to the box after leaving to ask for some pine tar after fouling off a pitch. Davis apparently went berserk. Siri was then tossed after having words with the umpire after striking out looking. I’m guessing they were strong words. It was the first at bat of the game. Narciso “Trump” Crook went 2 for 4, and Luis Gonzalez knocked in two while going 2 for 4 with a run scored. Shed “To Bed” Long went 1 for 3 with a RBI and a walk.
Pensacola will play the Lookouts again at 6:15 PM CT.
Daytona Tortugas 4, Palm Beach Cardinals 7
Tommy “Belgian Waffles” Bergjans gave up 4 earned runs over 4.2 innings (6 H, 1 BB, 2 K). The only Tortugas not to give up a run was Carlos Diaz who struck out 1 in his scoreless inning pitched. Randy “Ace” Ventura is lighting the damn world on fire. He went 3 for 5 with a RBI. He’s got a .344 average which is good no matter how you slice it. Malik “Good Dog” Collymore also went 3 for 4 with a double, RBI, and a run scored.
Daytona plays at 7:05 PM ET.
Dayton Dragons 0, Fort Wayne Tin Caps 12
I still think the Tin Caps is one of the coolest names in baseball. Much better then when Ft. Wayne was the Wizards. I still remember their shitty radio commercials, “The Ft. Wayne Wizards... Ah-MAYZING Baseball”. The other good example is their basketball team called the Mad Ants. Let’s get down to business. Patrick “The Crime Dog” McGuff gave up 3 earned runs over 5 innings (5 H, 0 BB, 6 K). That’s some bad damn luck. The offense was 2 hit. Bad.
Hunter Greene looks to slice eyeballs at 7:00 PM ET.
Billings had the night off. Yay for me.
Greeneville played a double header. Not a yay for me.
Greeneville Reds 4, Princeton Rays 6 (F/7)
Lyon “Down” Richardson was not good. He gave up 3 earned runs on 3 hits, 1 walk, and no strikeouts. I guess if there is a silver lining it’s that none of the runs were scored on dingers, and he kept the walks down. No one in the bullpen was good. Rylan Thomas walked 3 times and hit a solo dinger.
Greeneville Reds 8, Princeton Rays 7 (F/7)
This was a make up from yesterday. Alexis Diaz also wasn’t good. He allowed 5 earned over 4 innings on 6 hits, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Jerry D’”Big Bird” Andrea struck out 2 in 1.2 scoreless to pick up the win. Brandt “Rant” Stallings knocked a dinger, and so did Reniel “Rain All Day” Ozuna who went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI. Brian “Say Hey” Rey went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI.
Ricky Karcher will be on the mound at 7:00 PM ET.
