Fresh off last night’s thrilling, dramatic, kick-ass-awesome 9th inning comeback victory, the Cincinnati Reds will look to sweep their Ohio Cup rivals and continue their absurd interleague run in Cleveland on Wednesday night. And, they’ll do so with their hottest pitcher on the mound, as Tyler Mahle’s recent run has been pure [fire emoji].
Mahle has fired 39.2 innings over his previous 7 starts, and owns a 2.04 ERA in that stretch. He bucked his early season trend of allowing dingers in that span, too, having only yielded 3, which is fantastic to see. Most importantly, though, the Reds have won 6 of those 7 contests, with only a 5-4 extra inning loss to Atlanta a blemish in that time.
Cleveland will counter with Carlos Carrasco, who finished 4th in last year’s AL Cy Young Award voting and is having another solid campaign in 2018.
First pitch is set for 7:10 PM ET.
