Brantley Bell - 2-4, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R

Brantley Bell hasn’t had the best of seasons so far in 2018. Slashing only .239/.293/.362 this up to this point, things certainly could be going better for him. However, he smacked himself a 3-run dinger in the 7th inning on Thursday as part of a 2-hit night, allowing Daytona to come back and walk it off later in the 9th. Have a trophy Brantley.

Louisville Bats 1, Pawtucket Red Sox 5

Justin Nicolino got the start for the Bats and, until a 3-run 6th, he was doing okay. In all, he went 5.2 innings and gave up 4 runs on 6 hits while walking 2 and striking out 1. Phil “Phlervin” Ervin went 2 for 4 with a double, Hernan “The Barbarian” Iribarren went 2 for 4 and Dilson Herrera went 2 for 3 with a walk and scored a run. Nick “No. 2” Senzel also added a double.

Mitch “Yay” Nay was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored, and Jose “Que Sera?” Siri was 1 for 4 with a double and scored a run. Bruce Yari went 3 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI and had the game-winning hit. Scott “Randy” Moss started and only went 3 innings and gave up 2 earned runs. Juan Martinez allowed only 1 hit and struck out 2 in his 2 scoreless innings of relief. The losing pitcher for Clearwater is named JD Hammer, which is a name deserving of making the Farmers Only, even as an opponent.

Dayton Dragons 2, Lake County Captains 5

Packy Naughton wasn’t wacky in his start for Dayton last night, as he gave up 4 runs on 7 hits with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in 4 innings of work.
