Despite their offense being completely quiet for 8 full innings on Tuesday, the Cincinnati Reds rallied late to send the game into extra innings, eventually thumping the Kansas City Royals to the tune of 5-1. On Wednesday, they’ll get a rare opportunity to sweep the quick two-game interleague road series, and Tyler Mahle will captain their chances.
Mahle’s allowed just 2 ER in his previous pair of starts, though he’s needed 198 pitches to clear just 10 total innings in those outings. Hopefully, he can follow in the footsteps of Sal Romano after the latter’s solid 8 innings last night, as that would go a long way towards locking up another W.
First pitch is set for 8:15 PM ET.
