The Reds have suffered through a good number of excruciating losses this season, and yesterday was yet another. Homer got knocked around again and the bullpen fared only a little better. Thom’s favorite team scored 12 runs.
This evening they are back at it again with Luis Castillo tilting the tractor. He has looked like his old self the last four times he has pitched after a really rough start to the season. He has 24 strikeouts against just eight walks over the span with a perfectly good 2.78 ERA.
He’ll be met at the mound by Zack Godley, who has been quite mortal the past month. He has a sacrilegious 5.57 ERA over his last six starts while giving up 21 walks. He was biblical last season for AZ, serving as one of the five rotation stalwarts that led them to the NLDS (he even started Game 1 of that series). So they are really hoping he can resurrect some of that good grace.

Other Notes
- I’m writing this before the official lineups have been announced, but I have $1,000 in cash that says Scott Schebler will be in the starting lineup. He has two wampanoags in his two career ABs against Godley.
- Joey Votto and Billy Hamilton are a combined 7-12 against him, so all of my statistical brilliance leads me to speculate that the Reds will go this evening.
- Another interesting tidbit: Votto is way, way better than Paul Goldschmidt and Paul Goldschmidt sucks hind tit and he leads the NL in strikeouts so far this season so he totally sucks hind tit.
- For his career, Goldschmidt is 0-for-sucking hind tit against the universe.
