Friday

Louisville Bats 1, Durham Bulls 8

Anthony “Disco Fever” DeSclafani go ripped up in his start. He gave up 3 dingers and 6 earned runs on 8 hits over 5.0 innings. However, he could have been heavily working on specific things. He also struck out 8 with only a walk which is a really good sign. Kyle “Pioneer” Crockett struck out 3 over 2 scoreless (1 run was earned) and Evan “Kevin” Mitchell pitched a scoreless frame. Mason Williams was 1 for 3 with a walk.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 2, Tennessee Smokies 0

Seth Varner had a fantastic start. He pitched 5 scoreless innings on 2 hits, no walks, and 5 strikeouts. Robinson Leyer “I Hardly Knew Her!” pitched 2 scoreless with a strikeout, and Alejandro “Cha-Ching” Chacin made his 2018 debut by pitching 2 scoreless innings. While he did give up 2 hits and 2 walks he struck out 6 batters! Nick “Bong Rip” Longhi and Gavin LaValley both went 1 for 3 with doubles, an RBI, and a walk each.

Daytona Tortugas 4, St. Lucie Mets 1

Wenington “Winnington” Romero was great once again. He pitched 8 innings and gave up a single run on 2 hits, 1 walk, and he struck out 7. He also lowered his season ERA to 2.73. Ryan “Guitar Solo” Hendrix struck out 2 in 1 scoreless to pick up the save. TJ Friedl continued to hit the shit out of the ball. He went 3 for 3 with a RBI, run scored, and a walk. Jose Siri was 2 for 3 with a double and RBI. Mitch “Yay” Nay also went 1 for 3 with 2 runs scored, a double, walk, and a RBI.

Dayton Dragons 5, Bowling Green Hot Rods 4

Andrew Jordan was pretty fantastic. He pitched 6 innings of 1 run (not earned) baseball on 2 hits, 1 walk, and 2 strikeouts. He lowered his season ERA to 1.13. Corey Thompson picked up his 3rd save on 1.1 scoreless innings with 2 strikeouts. Stu “Balls” Fairchild hit a 2 run dinger. Miles Gordon went 1 for 4 with a walk, and so did Michael Beltre.

Saturday

Louisville Bats 5, Durham Bulls 3

Justin “Nidoking” Nicolino put the team on his back. He pitched 8.2 innings of 3 run ball. Those three runs didn’t come about until the 9th inning. He allowed 8 hits, 3 walks, and struck out 5. Gabby Guerrero was 2 for 3 with a run scored, and Phillip “Phlervin” Ervin was 1 for 3 with a double, RBI, run scored, a walk, and a stolen base.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 0, Tennessee Smokies 5

Vlad Gutierrez was not good. He allowed 5 earned runs over 5 innings. This happened on 7 hits, 2 dingers, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Victor “Pain” Payano struck out 3 over 2 scoreless, Brennan “San” Bernardino struck out 1 in 1 scoreless, and Alex “Super” Powers struck out 2 in 1 scoreless. Nick Longhi was 2 for 4.

Daytona was behind the Mets 3 to 5 with their game was suspended due to rain.

Dayton Dragons 2, Bowling Green Hot Rods 3

Adrian Rodriguez was pretty stable. He allowed 3 earned runs over 5.2 innings on 7 hits, no walks, and 5 strikeouts. Wendolyn Bautista struck out 1 in 2 scoreless. Montrell “We Are” Marshall was 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Sunday

Louisville Bats 5, Durham Bulls 0

Jose “Porky” Lopez was great once again. He pitched 6 scoreless innings on 4 hits, 1 walk, and 3 strikeouts. Jimmy “Wayne” Herget pitched 2 scoreless frame, and “Santo” Domingo Tapia pitched 1 scoreless. Gabby Guerrero hit a dinger and walked. DJ “Petey” Peterson was 3 for 4 with a RBI.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 6, Tennessee Smokies 11

The pitching overall was bad, obviously. Wyatt “Derp” Strahan gave up 5 earned (6 total) over 4 innings on 7 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Nick “Red Eyed” Longhi was 3 for 5 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Nick “La La” LaValley was 3 for 4 with a RBI and a walk.

The Tortugas were supposed to pick up play but their grounds were too wet. Baseball in Florida is probably going to be difficult for a few days.

Dayton Dragons 1, Bowling Green Hot Rods 8

Packy “Not Wacky” Naughton got hurt again. He gave up 5 total runs (4 earned) over 3.2 innings on 8 hits, 0 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Dauri Moreta struck out 3 in 2.1 scoreless, and Max “He Exists” Wotell struck out 1 in 1 scoreless. Michael Beltre was 2 for 4 with a RBI.

Monday

Louisville Bats 1, Durham Bulls 5

Brandon Finnegan wasn’t fooling anyone. He gave up 5 earned runs over 7 innings on 10 hits, no walks, and 3 strikeouts. Jose Rafael “Red Turtle” De Paula struck out 2 in 2 scoreless. DJ Peterson hit a homer on a 2 for 4 day. That’s about it.

Louisville plays at 6:3 PM ET. No pitchers are listed.

Daytona had a planned day off. They could use that day to make up games, but I doubt that happens.

Pensacola had Memorial Day off. TBD will be on the mound at 6:05 PM CT. But, I doubt it with the rain they’re supposed to be getting.

Dayton Dragons 1, Bowling Green Hot Rods 14

Fuck that.

Hunter Greene is on the mound at 7:00 pm ET.
