Brandon Larson Honorary Star Of The Night
Narciso Crook - They technically played two on the evening and I don’t want to back track and see how he did in the other one. It probably wasn’t stellar so I’m just going to talk about the one game he played tonight. Crook went 3 for 3 with a 2B, HR, and 2 RBI. He also has a really sweet names. I like it.
Louisville had their game banged in the middle (haha) due to rain. It looks like they went about 3 inning. Brandon Finnegan was starting and it wasn’t going super well. Cody Reed is scheduled to pitch their regularly scheduled game that is supposed to start at 7:05 PM ET.
Pensacola Blue Wahoos 3, Biloxi Shuckers 2
Wyatt “Earp” Strahan took the start and was much improved considering his early season struggles. Strahan pitched 6 innings of 2-run ball on 7 hits, 0 walks, and 5 strikeouts. The glaring part of his pitching line is the two solo dingers he allowed. That’s not good. Michael “Stretch” Lorenzen and Juan ‘Huan” Martinez both pitched scoreless innings of relief. Brennan “San” Bernardino struck out 3 in 2 scoreless to pick up the win. CJ “The Jackal” McElroy was 4 for 5 with a RBI, and Gavin “Buffet Line” LaValley hit a solo dinger on a 1 for 3 night with 2 RBI, including a sac fly.
TBD is on the mound at 6:35 PM CT.
Daytona Tortugas 1, Bradenton Marauders 7 (F/7)
Tony “Sad Face” Santillan got roughed up for the first time this season. He allowed 4 earned runs (5 total) on 5 hits, 2 walks, and only 1 strikeout. Alex “Dark” Webb struck out 1 in 1.1 innings. Taylor “The Greatest” Trammell was 2 for 3 with a run scored.
Daytona Tortugas 4, Bradenton Marauders 3 (F/7)
Kevin “Knight Of” Canelon gave up only 1 earned run over 4 innings pitched on 2 hits, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts. Ryan “Jimi” Hendrix struck out 2 in 1 inning to pick up the save. Narciso “I Am Not A” Crook went 3 for 3 with a double, 2-run dinger, and 2 RBI total. TJ Friedl was 2 for 4 with a RBI.
Ryan Olson pitches at 6:30 PM ET.
Dayton Dragons 2, Lansing Lugnuts 12
Puke. Packy “We Prefer You Wacky” Naughton got rocked. He gave up 7 earned runs over 4.1 innings on 5 hits, 2 walks, 1 strikeout, and 2 home runs. Tyler “Jimmy” Buffett struck out 1 over 1.1 scoreless, and John Ghyzel pitched a scoreless inning to finish out the slaughter. On an overall bad day for the Dragons, Jeter Downs decided that he would show up. Downs went 2 for 4 with a double, home run, run scored, and a RBI. It was his 5th dinger of the year.
TBD is on the mound at 7:05 PM ET.
