The Reds begin an extended seven-game road trip out in California this evening when they square up with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Yer boy Tyler Mahle faces off against Walker Buehler (which is a terrible name for a pitcher).
I don’t like Buehler. The Reds have had a notably difficult time developing good young pitchers in recent years and Buehler just showed up this season yelling out fireballs and eating gasoline volcanoes. Jerk.

Other News
- The Reds promoted assistant general manager and vice president of baseball operations Nick Krall to general manager. I doubt this will significantly change anything that goes on day-to-day in the front office, but I like Krall and this is cool for him. He sat down with some of us from Red Reporter and Redleg Nation and other Reds blogosphere folks back in the summer of 2016. He’s really bright.
- Matt Harvey will probably make his Reds debut in the next few days. That should be fun to watch.
