Squints, or “Cody Reed” as the IRS likes to call him, will scale the dusthill this evening for the Reds opposed by Jon “Vegetable Head” Lester for the tail end of this two-gamer. If the Reds can put this one in the can, they will have earned their first (good) sweep of the season.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 pm EDT.

Other Notes
- Before you git yerself all wapperjawed over Billy Hamilton leading off and Jesse Winker hitting sixth, note that Hamilton is 7-19 with an 1.137 OPS lifetime against Lester. Maybe that doesn’t mean anything to you, but it doesn’t not mean nothing, neither.
- Phil Gosselin gets his first start of the season at second base, which pushes Scooter Gennett to the bench. As hot as Scooter has been so far this season, it is worth remembering that for his career he has hit a ~sucking hind tit sound~ against left-handed pitchers.
- Not sure if Scott Schebler is out of the lineup because his elby-bone is still hurtin’ or if he is just sitting against the lefty. Hopefully he’s okay.
