The Reds travel to Minnesota this weekend to play a three game series against the American League Minnesota Twins, and the first game of that series starts tonight at 8:10 PM EDT.
Remember, this is the National League playing in an American League parks, so we’ll get three full days of the designated hitter. The DH is kinda dumb, but it should allow the Reds to run out their most optimum lineup, with all four outfielders able to hit at once.
Luis Castillo takes the mound for the Redlegs today. He’ll be opposed by Phil Hughes, who has had two surgeries to correct a Thoratic outlet syndrome injury and, well, yikes. He returned from the DL last Sunday to pitch against the Rays, but only lasted 3.1 IP and gave up 2 runs on 5 hits.

Other Notes
- As the tweet above mentions, this is the first time the Reds will be visiting Target Field since it opened at the beginning of the 2010 season. Not all that surprising when you think about it, I guess, but I would’ve figured they’d been there at least once before.
- Joey Votto has a three game home run streak. He’s always incredible, but it sure seems like he’s ramping up to that “otherworldly” type of incredible after scuffling a bit to begin the season.
- Looks like this will be another chilly game for the Reds on the season, looks like temperatures will fall into the 40s before this one is over.
