Cactus League Game 13: Reds at White Sox

These two clubs face off for the final time this spring.

Homer Bailey toes the rubber yet again today as the Cincinnati Reds will be in Glendale to face the Chicago White Sox at Camelback Ranch. Joey Votto will be in the lineup to back him, too, and is still in search of his first hit of Cactus League play, though there’s the conspiracy theorist in me that thinks he’s deliberately waiting for Billy Hamilton to get his first hit of spring first as an act of solidarity and leadership. Or something.

Amir Garrett, Jackson Stephens, Jimmy Herget, and Kyle Crockett are among the arms who have traveled with the club and are available after Homer today.

First pitch is set for 3:05 PM ET, and while there’s no listed TV on the Reds side, MLB.com lists that there is a White Sox TV feed out there somewhere if you can track it down.

Other Notes

  • In Yoan Moncada, Luis Robert, and Tim Anderson, the White Sox have three of the most hyped young talents in the game in their lineup today.
  • Speaking of hyped young talents, Nick Senzel is in the lineup for the Reds today, but will be back over at 3B.
  • It turns out Billy Hamilton’s sprained left index finger was a bit self-inflicted, at least by a Reds teammate, according to MLB.com’s Mark Sheldon. Thankfully, it also sounds as if he’s going to be just fine in a matter of days.
