Anthony DeSclafani will look to continue the success he had in his first Cactus League outing of the year when he and the Cincinnati Reds host the Kansas City Royals in Goodyear this afternoon. He’ll be backed by the likes of Tyler Mahle, Jimmy Herget, Tanner Rainey, and Keury Mella, among others, all of whom are listed as available on the travel roster.
First pitch is scheduled for 3:05 PM ET, though you’ll once again have to get your fix via radio (if you’re not one of the lucky ones in attendance).

Other Notes
- It looks like Bo Jackson is in camp with the Royals today, which is cooler than cool.
- Brandon Dixon gets the start today at 1B after bashing his 3rd dinger of the spring in yesterday’s game. I do get the impression that he’s increasingly earning the chance at an Opening Day roster spot as the versatile bench bat who brings some pop to the table, though he’s obviously still got a lot left to prove this spring. It’d be pretty damn impressive if each of Dixon, Jose Peraza, and Scott Schebler made the Opening Day roster after all being acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Todd Frazier deal.
- I’ve run out of interesting things for Other Notes. Be on TV again soon, baseball.
