After rain got in the way of the already unusual Thursday plans for Opening Day, the Cincinnati Reds will finally get their 2018 season underway Friday. Bryce Harper, Max Scherzer, and the Washington Nationals are in town, and they’ll be met by Homer Bailey at Great American Ball Park.
First pitch is set for 4:10 PM ET. The game’s on both FS-Ohio and MASN, and you can also tune in via MLB.tv should you so choose - unless you’re in one of those massive, archaic, chosen-at-random blackout areas.
(By the way, the St. Louis Cardinals are already in dead last in the NL Central. That’s always a fun thing to wake up to.)

Other Notes
- Jesse Winker is leading off.
- Jesse Winker is leading off.
- The Reds appear to have gone with as many lefties in their lineup as possible against Scherzer today, which certainly makes good sense.
- JESSE WINKER IS LEADING OFF!
- Cincinnati is 43-43 all-time against the Nationals since they high-tailed it down from Montreal. That obviously means today’s game is worth absolutely everything or the world ends.
- Let’s get down to baseball, shall we?
