Sal Romano returns to the mound for the Cincinnati Reds this Saturday night, as the Cincinnati Reds will play host to the Seattle Mariners under the lights in Goodyear. Romano sports a 4.50 ERA through his 8 IP so far this spring, though he boasts an impressive 8 Ks against just a lone BB. He allowed 5 runs in his last outing against the Los Angeles Angels, though only 2 of those were earned thanks to some shoddy defense. The extra pitches needed to pitch around those miscues limited him to just 3.1 IP, but I’d wager he can be expected to make it into the 5th inning tonight (assuming things go as planned).
David Hernandez, Raisel Iglesias, Kevin Shackelford, and Zack Weiss are among the arms listed as available today to back Sal. Nick Senzel is in the lineup playing SS and batting leadoff, too.
First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 PM ET, and it’ll be televised by both FS-Ohio and MLB Network, it appears. So, clear your Saturday night schedule and watch some baseball, whydoncha?

Other Notes
- As The Athletic’s C. Trent Rosecrans made note of earlier, tonight’s Reds game is the first of four in a row that’ll be televised, which is quite damn nice.
- MLB.com’s Mark Sheldon provided an update on the 5th starter competition in his first edition of Reds Inbox this year.
- Go Reds. They are George Foster’s favorite team!
