Farmers Only: Greene Triples for Billings in Pro Debut

Also Nick Senzel Doubles (again), Grass is Green

Durham 2, Louisville 1

Starter Tyler “My Man” Mahle pitched well again (yawn). He went five full, gave up one run on two hits (one dinger) and struck out five. Hernan Iribarren collected three hits and scored a run, and Brandon Dixon had one hit and knocked in Iribarren to plate Louisville’s lone run.

The Bats play tonight at Durham at 7:05 PM ET. Rookie Davis will be the starting pitcher.

Pensacola 5, Tennessee 0 (Game 1)

Game 1 of this DH went Pensacola’s way. Starter Jose “Mario” Lopez pitched a CGSO (7 innings), gave up only one hit, walked none and struck out seven. BOOM. Nick “2016 No. 2” Senzel went 3-for-4, plated two runs and scored a run. He also hit his 12th double since being promoted to Double- A and 38th in 2017 between Daytona and Pensacola.

Tennessee 2, Pensacola 1 (Game 2)

Starter Austin Ross pitched three innings, gave up one run on five hits and struck out two. Nick “2016 No. 2” Senzel went 0-for-3 in this game. Gabriel Guerrero knocked in Pensacola’s only run of Game 2.

The Blue Wahoos are off tonight.

Dunedin 11, Daytona 4

Starter Wendolyn “Not Jose” Bautista pitched four full, gave up eight runs on seven hits, walked two and struck out four. T.J. Friedl hit two doubles and scored a run, and four-headed monster of Luis Gonzalez, Reydel Medina, Daniel Sweet, and James Vasquez each had two hits and knocked in a run in this Daytona L.

The Tortugas play host Dunedin tonight at 7:05 PM ET.

Lansing 4, Dayton 3

Jose “iPhone voice” Siri went 1-for-5 with an RBI, and Taylor Trammell got on base four times with two hits and two walks, but after Dayton tied the game at three in the 7th, reliever Joel Kuhnel gave up the go-ahead run in the top of the 8th.

The Dragons are off tonight.

Idaho Falls 10, Billings 7

IT’S HAPPENING!! The HUNTER GREENE era is upon us. Batting 6th and DHing, he went 1-for-4 in his pro debut with a triple that plated two runs. He JUST turned 18 three days ago. This is going to be good. This guy is excited about the Hunter Greene Era and his future ERA.

Jeter “Derek” Downs had two hits and drove in three runs. Stuart Fairchild and Andy Sugilio each collected two hits. Starter Luis Alecis recorded only four outs, gave up five runs (four earned) on four hits and five walks and struck out none.

The Mustangs host Idaho Falls tonight at 9:05 PM ET.

How bow da AZL & DSL Reds

  • The AZL Reds lost 2-0 to the AZL White Sox and play today against the AZL Mariners at 9:00 PM.
  • The DSL Reds were rained out Tuesday and play two today at the DSL Giants today at 10:30 AM.
