Farmers Only Weekend Harvest: Lots Of Losing, But Tony Santillan Was Awesome

Jose Siri also lost his hit streak on a controversial Friday.

Friday

Louisville 0, Indianapolis 1

Oooof. Well, Cody Reed was ok. His control is still bothersome. He gave up only an earned run over 7 innings, but he walked 4. He also allowed 5 hits and struck out 5. Austin “Fisher” Brice and Jimmy “Orange” Herget both pitched scoreless innings. Brice struck out 1. Tyler “Good Day” Goeddel was 1 for 3 with a walk.

Pensacola 4, Tennessee 5

Keury “Hella” Mella was mediocre. He did strike out 7 batters over 5.1 innings, but he allowed 3 earned runs (5 total) on 8 hits and a walk. Robert “Good” Stock struck out 1 over 1.2 innings and Zack Weiss struck out 2 in a scoreless inning. Aristides “Horse Shit” Aquino was 3 for 4 with a double, dinger, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI. Chad “Stupid” Tromp was 2 for 4 with a double and a RBI.

Daytona 4, Lakeland 3

Wyatt “Earp” Strahan was dang good. He only gave up an earned run over 7 innings. He allowed 3 hits, 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts. Sandy “Beaches” Lugo struck out 2 in a scoreless inning. Luis “MVP” Gonzalez was 2 for 5 with a triple, and Reydel “Rotel” Medina was 2 for 5 with a RBI. TJ Friedl hit a solo homer. Garrett “Tupperware” Boulware was 3 for 3 with 2 RBI and a walk.

Dayton 2, Great Lakes 4

Scott Moss pitched 5.1 innings and gave up 4 earned runs. He did strikeout 7 and walked 2 with 6 hits given up. The problem was the 2 dingers he gave up. Aaron Fossas “Your Teef” struck out 5 over 3.2 innings. Carlos Rivero “Bendo” was 2 for 4, Taylor “Future All Star” Trammell was 3 for 4 with a double, and Hector Vargas was 2 for 4. I believe it was this game so I’ll talk about it. Jose Siri was 0 for 3 with a walk. This snapped his hitting streak. The big story was the Loons who chose to not only throw behind Siri on the first pitch, but never even came close to the strike zone in his at bat. It was incredibly cowardly and the Dragons were not happy. The benches did clear, but I don’t think any punches were thrown. I’ll repeat. It was incredibly cowardly, and the Great Lake Loons should be ashamed. There is a video of the incident.

Billings 7, Ogden 5

Jhon “H Jon” De Jesus gave up 3 earned runs over 4 innings. He allowed 3 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 2. Zac “Coral” Correll pitched 3 scoreless innings with a strikeout. Tony “Sizzlin” Santillan was lights out. He struck out 10 over 6.1 innings and only gave up 1 earned run. He scattered 4 hits and walked 2. Bruce “Soft Jazz” Yari was 2 for 3 with a solo homer and a walk. Siri was given a well deserved night off.
