St. Louis Cardinals @ Cincinnati Reds
6:40 PM ET
Mike Leake vs. Asher Wojciechowski
The Reds open up a seven-game home stand tonight with the first of a three-game series against the Red Birds. Even better news: Flo Rida takes the stage after the game.
After a strong April (1.35 ERA and 0.99 WHIP), Leake has regressed nearly each month, which included a 4.76 ERA and 1.94 WHIP in July. In his last start against the D-Backs, he pitched five full, gave up three runs on four hits (two were dingers), hit two batters, walked two and struck out four.
Wojciechowski is taking Adleman’s spot in the rotation this time around. He hasn’t started since June 17 against the Dodgers and was sent down to Louisville shortly thereafter. After getting called back to Cincinnati, he spent the whole month of July pitching out of the bullpen. In six relief appearances in July, he pitched 12 2/3 innings, gave up one earned run, walked four and struck out 17 batters.
Go Reds!
