Farmers Only: Dayton stays hot

Taylor Trammell and Jose Siri help lead Dayton to their 10th win in their last 11 games.

Louisville Bats 1, Indianapolis Indians 6

Louisville wasn’t able to provide much in the way of offense on Wednesday, as they fell 6-1 to Indianapolis. Rookie “Of the Year” Davis started and wasn’t great, giving up 4 earned runs on 9 hits over 5 innings. The good news, though, is that he struck out 4 and didn’t walk anyone, which means that he now has 30 strikeouts and only 1 walk over his last 5 appearances. Nefi Ogando struck out 2 in a scoreless inning of relief. Darnell Sweeney “Todd” was 2 for 3 with a solo dinger and Brandon “Mason” Dixon was 1 for 3 with a double.

Up Next: Jackson Stephens starts for Louisville tonight at 7:05 PM ET.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 4, Mississippi Braves 3

The Blue Wahoos had a double-header on Wednesday to make up for the rain-out on Tuesday. Jesus “Saves Starts” Reyes started and was wild, going 4.1 innings and giving up 3 runs on 7 hits with 5 walks and 3 strikeouts. Robert “Beef” Stock struck out 3 in 1.2 scoreless innings and Tanner “Make It” Rainey struck out 2 in 1 scoreless inning. Arismendy Alcantara was 1 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI, Shed Long returned from the DL and went 2 for 2 with a walk, and Gavin “As I Walk Through” LaValley was 1 for 3 with a double.

Game 2 went into extra innings, because of course it did, and the Wahoos were victorious in this one, too. Domingo “Ate Your Baby” Tapia started and went 4 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. He also collected his first professional hit. Reydel Medina was 1 for 2 with a 3-run dinger, Jonathan Reynoso was 2 for 5 with a RBI and 2 runs scored, and Gabriel “Young Vlad” Guerrero was 1 for 4 with a double, a walk, and 2 runs scored.

Dayton Dragons 9, Bowling Green Hot Rods 8

Dayton played in a wild one that ended up taking 10 innings, but they came away victorious by the score of 9-8. Matt “Blandimeh” Blandino started and gave up 5 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts over 3.2 innings of work. Jesse “No Evil” Adams got the win and struck out 3 over 1.2 scoreless innings of relief. John “Sandstorm” Sansone was 2 for 4 with a solo dinger and 3 RBI, Taylor “Bubba” Sparks was 1 for 2 with a 2-run dinger and a walk, Taylor “This Guy is Awesome” Trammell was 2 for 4 with a double, a walk, and 1 RBI. Jose “Ask” Siri was 1 for 4 with a triple, 2 RBI, and 2 stolen bases. That puts him at 46 swipes on the year and with 5 games left, that gives him a pretty legitimate shot at 50 for the season.
