Farmers Only: Billings Crushes Dongs

New, 27 comments

And one of them was crushed by Stu Fairchild.

Louisville 7, Indianapolis 4

Amir “Ball Is Life” Garrett took the start and I still wouldn’t call him great. His WHIP was awful, but he only allowed 2 earned runs (4 total) in 5 innings. He did give up 7 hits and walked three. He struck out 4. “Double” Barrett Astin struck out 2 in 3 scoreless. Jimmy “Eat World” Herget picked up his 9th save with a scoreless inning. Darnell “Barn Owl” Sweeney went 2 for 4 with a double, RBI, and a walk, and Alex Blandino walked twice. Hernan “The Barbarian” Iribarren went 2 for 3 with a walk, and Brandon “Mason” Dixon knocked in 3 with a double and walked.

Rookie Davis looks to stay hot at 6:35 PM ET.

Rain banged the game in Pensacola on Tuesday. Ha. There will be a double header starting at 4:00 PM CT with Jesus Reyes on the mound.

Daytona 5, Palm Beach 2

Seth “Vinny Vanny” Varner probably turned in his best game of the season. Varner, struck out 6 Cardinals in 6 innings while allowing only 4 hits and a walk. Only one earned run was given up. Ryan “Jimi” Hendrix struck out 1 in a scoreless inning, Joel “Shiny Ass” Bender did the same, and Rafael “Renaissance” De Paula struck out 3 in 1.2 innings. Alfredo “Little Pasta” Rodriguez went 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored, Shane “Mads” Mardirosian was 2 for 3 with a double, RBI, and a walk, and Luis “Yankee” Killer Gonzalez went 2 for 5 with a RBI. Malik “Muh Leak” Collymore went 2 for 4.

TBD is on the mound at 6:30 PM ET.

Dayton had the night off and Matt Blandino will be on the mound at 7:00 PM ET.

Billings 4, Missoula 5

Luis ‘Lucious Fox” Alecis was bad. He gave up 5 earned runs over 1.2 innings on 3 hits, 4 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Miguel Aguilar struck out 3 in 3.1 scoreless innings, Connor Bennett struck out 2 in 2 scoreless, and Cory Thompson matched his number of scoreless innings (1) with his number of strikeouts. Zeke White hit a solo dinger and walked, Stu Fairchild hit a solo wanger as well, and Mark “Big Name” Kolozsvary also solo homered and walked. In the terms of batters who did more than just homer, Montrell “We Are” Marshall was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles.

Jhon De Jesus will be on the mound at 7:05 PM MT.

Baby Reds 7, Baby Angels 3

Jared “Temple Of” Soloman was great. He struck out 8 over 5 innings while allowing 4 hits, 2 earned runs (3 total), and only walking 2. Isaac “Am Nasty” Anesty struck out 1 over an inning, and Edward “Boozy” Escobooza struck out 6 over 3 scoreless innings to pick up the save. “Saint” Valentin Martinez was 3 for 5 with a triple and a 2-run dinger. Justin “Bell Ringer” Bellinger was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI and 2 walks. Juan Martinez was 2 for 5 with a RBI and 2 runs scored.
