Louisville 1, Indianapolis 7 (F/7)
Cody “Rec Spec” Reed pitched 3 scoreless while only giving up one hit. He didn’t strikeout a batter, but who cares? I don’t. He threw only 27 pitches and 21 of those were strikes. The bullpen was bad. Darnell “Barnwell” Sweeney was 2 for 3 with a double, and Alex “Blandiyes” Blandino schwacked a schwolo schwamer.
Louisville 4, Indianapolis 3 (F/8)
Luke “Frank The Tank” Farrell took the start and was meh. He gave up 3 earned runs over 5 innings on 4 hits, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Nefi “Covfefe” Ogando struck out 1 in 2 scoreless innings, and Jimmy “Wayne” Herget struck out 1 in a scoreless inning to pick up the save. While we’re talking about pitchers, I’d like to point out the losing pitcher for Indy’s name is Cumpton. That’s due for a few laughs on its own. Alex “No Taste Buds” Blandino was 2 for 4 with a double, Brandon “Dixoff” Dixon was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 runs scored, and Adam Brett “Texas” Walker “Ranger” hit a 2 run dong diggity. Sebastian “Lizard Man” Elizalde was also 2 for 3 with a RBI.
Amir Garrett pitches at 6:35 PM ET.
Pensacola 3, Mississippi 2
Austin “Not Scott Moss” Ross gave up only 2 earned runs over 5.2 innings. All of this occurred on 7 hits, 2 walk, and no strikeouts. Zack “Winky” Weiss struck out 2 over 1.2 innings, and Tanney “Mount” Rainey struck out 4 over 1.2 scoreless. Rainey might be making a case for a serious look in the bullpen next year. Nick Senzel still wasn’t in the lineup, but is main bro, Gavin “LaBro” LaValley, picked up the team. LaValley walked twice and hit a double, and Gabby Guerrero was 1 for 3 with a walk. The rest were all scattered hits and some good luck for the win.
Jesus Reyes is on the mound at 6:35 PM CT.
Daytona 3, Palm Beach 8
Wyatt “Derp” Strahan wasn’t fooling anyone. He gave up 9 hits and 5 earned runs over 5 innings. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out 3. Aaron “Chillen Like” Quillen pitched a scoreless inning. Luis “MVP” Gonzalez was 3 for 5 with a double and a run scored, and James “Boring Name” Vasquez was 3 for 5 with 3 RBI. Shane Mardirosian also contributed with a 2 for 5 night.
The always welcoming TBD is on the mound at 6:30 PM ET.
Dayton 6, Great Lakes 3
Andrew “Micheal” Jordan was pretty dang good. He gave up 2 earned runs (3 total) over 6 innings on 6 hits, no walks, and 7 strikeouts. Jesse “Engine” Stallings struck out 1 over a scoreless inning, and Joel “Cool Hell” Kuhnel and Aaron “A-A-RON” Fossas both pitched scoreless innings with completely empty box scores. Taylor “I Freaking Love Him” Trammell was 1 for 3 with another 2 walks, a run scored, and his 40th stolen base of the year. I love him. John “Say It Ain’t” Sansone was 2 for 5 with a RBI and a run scored, Randy “Brandy” Ventura was 1 for 4 with a double, walk, a stolen base, and 2 runs scored, and I don’t feel like mentioning the rest.
Dayton has the night off.
Billings 6, Helena 1
I must have caught this one right when it ended, which is great for my sanity. Packy “Fucky Naughty” Naughton struck out 5 over 5 innings while only giving up 1 earned run. He allowed 4 hits and only 1 walk. Lucas Benenati struck out 1 over over a scoreless inning, Zac Correll struck out 2 over 2 scoreless, and Ryan “Bustof” Nutof struck out 1 over and another scoreless inning. Helena had a ton of errors (4) which saved the scuffling bats of the Mustangs. Urwin “Urine” Juaquin was 1 for 3 with a walk and run scored, and Andy “Slug Lord” Sugilio was 1 for 2 with a run scored, RBI, and a walk.
Luis Alecis is on the mound at 7:05 PM MT.
Baby Reds 1, AZL Brewers 3 (Bottom of 9, Not Final)
I was fading and didn’t want to wait this one out, but I pretty much chalked it up to as a loss. Maybe they win in the end. Alexis Diaz struck out 6 in 5 innings while only giving up 2 runs. He gave up 2 hits and walked 3. Juan Martinez walked once and singled, and Justin Bellinger drove int he only run with a double.
