Louisville Bats 2, Indianapolis Indians 10
This was not a game for “Double” Barrett Astin. He started for the Bats and lasted only 2.1 innings, giving up 6 runs on 8 hits with no walks and 2 strikeouts. There wasn’t a ton to write home about offensively, either. Darnell Sweeney “Todd” was 1 for 4 with a solo donk and 2 runs scored, Brandon Dixon “Dixoff” was 2 for 4, and Adam Brett Walker Texas Ranger was 3 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI. Geoff “Ree” Broussard pitched 2 shutout innings in his first Triple-A action of the season.
Up Next: Amir Garrett starts for the Bats tonight at 7:05 PM ET.

Austin “Scott” Ross started for Pensacola and gave up 3 runs on 7 hits with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts over 4.2 innings of work. Robert “Beef” Stock came on in relief and fired 2.1 shutout innings and earned the win, for whatever that’s worth. Gavin “As I Walk Through” LaValley was 3 for 4 with a double and 4 RBI and Nick “No. 2” Senzel was also 3 for 4 and scored thrice. Ho-hum. Aristides “Horse Shit” Aquino was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI, Joe Hudson was 2 for 4 with a double and also drove in two, and Gabriel “Young Vlad” Guerrero was 2 for 5 with a double and 1 RBI.

Daytona Tortugas 6, Bradenton Marauders 9
Despite the nice performance, Daytona fell in 13-innings to Bradenton last night. Seth Varner started and was solid if you take away the third inning. He gave up 5 runs on 7 hits with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts over 5 innings. As you might have guessed, all 5 runs came in the third. James “No nickname” Vazquez was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI, Mitch Piatnik “At the Disco” was 2 for 6 with a double, a solo dinger, and 2 RBI, Brantley “Ring My” Bell was 2 for 6 with 1 RBI, and Blake “Country Breakfast” Butler was 2 for 4 with 2 walks. Jake “His name is Robert” Paulson struck out 5 and didn’t give up a hit in 3 shutout innings of relief.

Even without the help of the RR contingent, Dayton still managed to dominate. Jose “Ask” Siri continues to stay hot, going 2 for 5 with a 3-run tank, Randy “Pet Detective” Ventura was 2 for 5 with a double, a triple, and 3 RBI, Hector Vargas was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a RBI, and Michael “Head Rub” Beltre was 3 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBI.
