The former 1st round comp-pick continues to have a big year in Dayton.

Taylor Trammell

Louisville Bats 5, Pawtucket Red Sox 9

Minor league teams that share the mascot of their parent club are so boring. That being said, our Bats got smacked by the Red Sox last night. Cody “Welp” Reed gave up 5 runs on 7 hits with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. The 3 walks is an improvement, I guess? Maybe? Scott “Schebbles and Bits” Schebler went 2 for 4 with a double in his second rehab game. Adam Brett Walker “More like Adam Brett Dinger” was 2 for 3 with a solo dinger, a walk, and 2 runs scored while Zach “Cincy” Vincej was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles.

Up Next: Jackson Stephens starts tonight against Pawtucket at 7:05 PM ET.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 5, Mississippi Braves 4

Deck “The Halls” McGuire started for the Wahoos and went 5.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Nick “Senzinnati” Senzel went 1 for 4 with a double, a walk, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored, Blake “Trade Hands” Trahan was 1 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI, Gavin “As I walk through” LaValley was 2 for 5 with a double, and Brian “Beef” O’Grady was 1 for 3 with a walk and 1 RBI. Zack Weiss got the save and struck out 1 in a scoreless inning.

Up Next: Keury Mella starts tonight against Mississippi at 7:00 PM CT.

Daytona Tortugas 7, Bradenton Marauders 6

Daytona won a marathon of a game, defeating Bradenton 7-6 in 14 innings. Wyatt “Derp” Strahan started and pitched pretty well, giving up 3 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits with no walks and 2 strikeouts over 6 innings. Luis “Game 7” Gonzalez was 3 for 7 with 2 RBI, Shane “In the Membrane” Mardirosian was 2 for 7 with a solo donk, a double, and 2 runs scored, and James Vazquez was 2 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI. Aaron “Quail Man” Quillen struck out 1 in 2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

Dayton Dragons 7, West Michigan Whitecaps 0

Scott “Randy” Moss started for Dayton and pitched well, throwing 5 shutout innings while giving up only 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 5. Taylor Trammell went 2 for 4 with a 2-run dinger, Hector Vargas was 2 for 4 with a solo blast, and “Butch” Cassidy Brown was 1 for 4 with a 3-run dinger. Jose “Ask” Siri keeps on hitting, as he went 2 for 5 with a double and scored a run.

Up Next: Tony Santillan starts tonight at 7:00 PM ET.

Billings Mustangs 9, Idaho Falls Chukars 15

Matt Sceroler wasn’t great last night, but he was really let down by his defense. He only lasted 1.2 innings, but all 7 of the runs he gave up were unearned. He also gave up 5 hits and allowed 2 walks and didn’t strike out anyone. Alejo Lopez was 3 for 5 with a double and 4 RBI, Andy “Sluggo” Sugilio was 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored and a double, and Pablo “Applesauce” Manzanero was 2 for 2 with a double and 1 RBI.
