Louisville 3, Pawtucket 1
Tyler “Good Golly Miss” Mahle didn’t have one of his very best nights, but was still quite awesome. He’s so awesome. Mahle gave up an earned run over 5 innings pitched on 8 hits, 1 walk, and 4 strikeouts. Alejandro “Cha-Ching” Chacin struck out 3 over 2 scoreless to pick up his first save for Louisville. Alexander “The Great” Blandino went 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored, Brandon “Mason” Dixon went 2 for 3 with a triple, RBI, and run scored, and Zach “Rhymes With Horsey” Vincej went 2 for 3 with a triple and a run scored.
Louisville 5, Pawtucket 1
Rookie “Boogie” Davis was even better than Mahle, which just sounds ridiculous. He gave up an earned run while finishing all 7 innings for the complete game. He allowed 6 hits, no walks, and struck out 6. Hernan “The Barbarian” Iribarren was 2 for 4 with a run scored. Adam Brett Walker also doubled in a run.
Pensacola had the night off. Presumably it was to give the opponents of Nick Senzel a break. It has to be tiring watching Senzel be immaculate every single night.
Deck McGuire will be on the mound at 7:00 PM CT.
Daytona 3, Bradenton 5
Jonathon “Crawdad” Crawford didn’t retire a batter. He gave up 4 earned runs on 3 hits and 3 walks. The job of cleaning things up went to Juan “Don” Martinez who was fantastic. He struck out 5 and only gave up 1 hit and no runs. Sandy “Cheeks” Lugo struck out 3 over 2 innings, and Joel Bender “Like Beckham” struck out 1 in a scoreless inning. Shane “Mardi Gras” Mardirosian hit a 2-run tater, and Reydel Medina went 2 for 4 with a double, run scored, and a solo dinger. Alfredo “Baby Pasta” Rodriguez was 2 for 4 with a run scored.
Wyatt Strahan is on the mound at 6:30 PM ET.
Dayton 5, West Meatchicken 7
Wennington “Wet To Beddington” Romero was not good. He gave up 5 earned runs over 4.1 innings. He only walked 1 but gave up 10 hits, a dinger, and struck out 4. Taylor “5 Tool” Trammell continues to be ridiculous by going 3 for 5 with a solo wanger and 2 runs scored. It was his 10th dinger of the year. He also stole his 33rd base. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayum. He good.
Scott Moss pitches at 7:00 PM ET.
Billings 7, Idaho Falls 5
Jhon “Dijon Mustard” De Jesus was decent. He did give up 2 earned runs (3 total) over 5 innings, but that came on 6 hits, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Connor Ryan finished the final 1.2 innings to pick up the save with a strikeout. Stu “Ball” Fairchild was 3 for 4 with a triple, run scored, and 3 RBI. Montrell “We Are” Marshall also went 3 for 4 with a double, triple, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI. Jeter “Churchill” Downs also contributed to the win by going 1 for 3 with a walk, run scored, and a ribbie.
Mac Sceroler pitches at 7:15 PM MT.
The Baby Reds were losing to the Baby Angels in the 6th, 4-1.
