Louisville had the evening off. The starting pitcher has yet to be determined.
Pensacola 4, Birmingham 1
Jesus “Lives” Reyes pitched well. Really well. Reyes went 6 shutout innings and gave up only 3 hits, 1 walk, and struck out 7. Robert “Good” Stock struck out 2 over 2 scoreless innings to pick up the most meaningless stat in the world, the hold. Gavin “LaRiver” LaValley was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. Blake “Mayhem” Trahan was 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored, and Gabby Guerrero was also 2 for 4 with 2 RBI, a run scored, and a double.
Deck McGuire is scheduled to pitch at 7:05 PM CT.
Daytona 1, Tampa 0
Vladimir “Gooter” Gutierrez pitched 5 scoreless innings where he allowed 5 hits, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Sandy “Cheeks” Lugo struck out 2 in 2.1 scoreless, and Juan Martinez chipped in with a scoreless inning. TJ “You Got A” Friedl “In Me” went 3 for 4 with a double and a triple. Brantley “Ring My” Bell knocked in the winning run.
Wendolyn Bautista pitches at 7:05 PM ET.
Dayton 3, Fort Wayne 4
The big story here is going to be about Jose Siri, but I always like talking about the starting pitcher first. Though, Andrew “Jackson” Jordan doesn’t really deserve it. Jordan gave up 4 earned runs over 5.1 innings. He allowed 4 hits, 4 walk, 5 strikeouts, and 2 dingers. “Finding” Dauri Moreta pitched 2.2 scoreless with 3 strikeouts. The big news came from Jose “Super Sirial” Siri was only 1 for 4 but set the Midwestern League record by hitting in 36 games in a row. Yay for Jose! Shane “Huge Name” Mardirosian hit a solo wanger, and Taylor “TT” Trammell was 1 for 3 with a walk.
Matt Blandino pitches at 12:05 PM ET.
Billings is on their All Star break. The game will be played tonight at 10:05 PM ET. Miles Gordon, Moises Nova, and Packy Naughton will represent the Mustangs.
Baby Reds 8, Baby Indians 3
“Double” Barrett Astin took the start since he’s on rehab and struck out 1 over a scoreless inning. Nick Routt “66” struck out 2 in his rehab start, Alexis Diaz struck out 1 in 1.2 scoreless, and Edward “Boozy” Escoboza struck out 1 in 1.1 scoreless. Cash “Money Box” Case was 2 for 5, Miguel Hernandez was 2 for 4 with a RBI, walk, and a run scored, Juan Martinez was 2 for 3 with a double, triple, and 2 RBI, and Valentin “Will You Be Mine?” Martinez was 2 for 3 with a RBI and a run scored.
The Baby Reds have tonight off.
