Farmers Only: Organizationally Swept

Tyler Stephenson reached base 4 more times and Jesse Winker stayed hot, but there was no winning to show for it.

Louisville Bats 5, Columbus Clippers 6

Louisville tried to mount a comeback in the 9th, but it wasn’t enough as they fell 6-5 to Columbus. “General” Jackson Stephens got the start and wasn’t very good. He went 5 innings and gave up 5 runs (3 earned) on 6 hits with 6 walks and 3 strikeouts. The Bats did pretty well offensively, collecting 10 hits as a team. Darnell Sweeney “Todd” was 2 for 5 with a double and 1 RBI, Jesse “No Evil” Winker was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI, and Zach “Soft J” Vincej was 2 for 3 with a double, a RBI, and a walk. Alejandro “Caught” Chacin gave up an unearned run on 2 hits in 3 scoreless innings.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 2, Mobile BayBears 8

Game 1 of the double-header did not go well for Pensacola. “Hit The” Deck McGuire got shelled, giving up 6 runs in 5 innings with 4 walks and only 1 strikeout. Things didn’t go much better for the offense. Alex “The Great” Blandino was 1 for 3 with a double, Aristides “Heiress Titties” Aquino was 1 for 3 with 1 RBI, and Blake Trahan was 2 for 3.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 0, Mobile BayBears 1

Game 2 didn’t go any better for the Blue Wahoos, as they fell 1-0 in 8 innings. Domingo “Ate my baby” Tapia got the start and was solid, giving up no runs on 1 hit with no walks and 2 strikeouts. Pensacola could only muster 3 hits as a team. Angelo “Bleeding” Gumbs was 1 for 3 with a triple while Aristides Aquino and Gabriel “Young Vlad” Guerrero were each 1 for 3 with singles. Carlos “Little CarGo” Gonzalez struck out 2 in 2 scoreless innings of relief.

Dayton Dragons 5, Lansing Lugnuts 7

Dayton couldn’t take advantage of a 14-hit evening and fell 7-5 to Lansing on Wednesday. Ty “Poppin’” Boyles was bad, going 3.2 innings and giving up 6 runs on 10 hits with no walks and 3 strikeouts. Offensively, every batter that collected a hit had more than one. Jose “Find me directions” Siri was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI. Tyler “Kennesaw” Stephenson was 2 for 3 with 2 walks and 1 RBI, TJ “I was born” Friedl was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, and James “No nickname” Vasquez was 2 for 4 with a double, a run scored, and a RBI. Jesse Stallings pitched a scoreless inning out of the bullpen.
