Reds vs. Cardinals, Game 1: Preview/Predictions Thread

Asher Wojciechowski vs. Carlos Martinez

Things started out well for Wojo. In his debut out of the pen, he damn near went 4 perfect innings, allowing only one run before being lifted for Raisel Iglesias. He allowed a run in his second appearance and then was moved to the rotation. That didn’t go as well, as he got roughed up for four runs in 4 IP. Not ideal, but not the end of the world considering the state of Reds pitching. I’m sure they’d like him to go a bit longer this time out.

He’ll be opposed by Carlos Martinez, which, yikes. In 44.1 IP in the month of May, Martinez owns a 2.03 ERA, and a 41:13 K/BB ratio. He’s still good, everybody.

Billy Hamilton is back in the lineup after being yanked Saturday due to a left shoulder injury. Scott Schebler, however, is not.
