Louisville Bats 1, Norfolk Tide 3
So, it looks like Sal “Salvatore” Romano is getting bat to doing good things. He allowed 2 earned runs (3 total) over 8 innings on 6 hits, 1 walk, and 1 strikeout. You’d like to see more strikeouts, but I’ll take a good outing with good control. Alex “Stanford Swing” Blandino was 1 for 2 with a RBI and 2 walks, Hernan “The Destroyer” Iribarren was 2 for 4 with a double, Jesse “Winkerbean” Winker was 2 for 4, and Phillip “Phlerve” Ervin was 2 for 4 with a double.
Jackson Stephens will take the mound at 7:05 PM ET. Well, actually he won’t. Stephens will be starting in Cincinnati on Saturday. I have no idea who is pitching for Louisville tonight.
Pensacola Blue Wahoos 2, Montgomery Biscuits 1 (Game 1)
Keury “Curry” Mella took the start but that was on Wednesday when the game was originally rained out. He walked 1 and struck out 1. Deck McGuire took over when the game resumed yesterday and was nails yet again. He pitched 6 scoreless innings while allowing only 3 hits, 2 walks, and striking out 10. Josh “Man Eater” VanMeter was 2 for 3 with a run scored.
Pensacola Blue Wahoos 2, Montgomery Biscuits 4 (Game 2 / Postponed)
Well, rain happened again in the 6th inning of the 2nd Game of the day. Doesn’t sound like it rained very long, but it must have rained pretty hard. The ground was too wet to continue the game and they’ll pick play back up this evening.
Daytona Tortugas 0, Lakeland Flying Tigers 2
Wyatt “Earp” Strahan took the start and was pretty decent. He allowed 1 earned run (2 total) over 6 innings with 3 hits, 2 walks, and a strikeout filling out the rest of his pitching line. Ryan “Jimi” Hendrix pitched 1.1 scoreless with 2 strikeouts, and Brian “Booty” Hunter struck out 4 in 1.2 scoreless. Daniel “So” Sweet was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
Johnny Crawford takes the hill at 6:30 PM ET.
Dayton Dragons 0, West Michigan Whitecaps 3
Wennington Romero took the start and was decent. He pitched 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Joel “Funnel” Kuhnel pitched a scoreless inning with 2 strikeouts. Taylor Trammell was 2 for 4 with a double.
Scott Moss pitches at 7:00 PM ET.
Billings Mustangs 3, Missoula Osprey 7
Max “Bum Shoulder” Wotell continues to get harassed on the mound. He allowed 4 earned runs (6 total) over 3.2 innings. This occurred on 8 hits, 3 walks, and 1 strikeout. Moises “Chevy” Nova pitched 2.1 scoreless with 3 strikeouts. Montrell “We Are” Marshall hit a solo dinger and Satchel “Back Pack” McElroy was 2 for 5 with a run scored. Jeter “Churchill” Downs was 1 for 2 with a walk.
Jhon De Jesus pitches at 7:05 PM MT.
Baby Reds 6, Baby Brewers 10
Hmmmmm. Let’s see. Who did good? Jared “Temple Of” Solomon pitched 1.1 scoreless innings and struck out 2. Alexander “The Great” Perez struck out 3 in 3 scoreless innings. Raul “Rusty” Wallace was 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored, Mariel “Mary Bats” Bautista was 2 for 5 with a run scored, 2 doubles, and 4 RBI.
I think the Baby Reds play again tonight.
